Carcase scanning · image upload, quality check and calibration
Upload the scanner's own image files (DICOM is best) for each animal. Genemap checks every image's quality,
marks the measurement area, and keeps the original file untouched. With carcase results from the same animals,
these images are what Genemap's own intramuscular fat (IMF) model will be calibrated on.
Research stage — no IMF numbers yet. No Genemap ultrasound model has passed its
accuracy test against laboratory IMF, so this page never shows a predicted IMF%, and nothing here enters your
breeding values. Images are stored, checked and measured so that a model can be built and tested.
1. Scanner and settings
Each model is tied to one scanner, probe and preset — the image texture changes with frequency, gain, depth and
processing, so images from a scanner or preset that is not registered here are stored but never measured for IMF.
Until the image area is confirmed on a real exported image, uploads are stored but not accepted.

3. Images
Drop scan images here or click to choose
DICOM (.dcm) preferred. PNG and BMP accepted. JPEG and video (.mp4, .avi) are accepted but
flagged: their compression changes the texture the IMF measurement reads. Name each file starting with the animal's tag,
e.g. Q19_1.dcm; at least 4 good images per animal.
4. Session images and quality
"Waiting" means the image is stored and queued for Genemap's ultrasound checker. Images below the
quality threshold are kept but not used. Each animal needs at least 4 accepted images.

(). Click to place, drag to adjust. The dashed box is Genemap's automatic suggestion — shown
for comparison only.
