Breed for your farm, not the national average.
Genemap values every sheep and cattle animal in dollars for your own enterprise, starting from the EBVs you already have.

What it does
Four jobs, one place.
Your evaluation, your economics, your sire choices and your records, all working from the same animals.
Evaluate
One evaluation, across every herd.
Genemap is built around one shared evaluation: every animal recorded goes into it, so your figures sit on the same base as every other herd and flock on the platform and can be compared directly. Shared evaluation switches on once our updated terms are in place. Your records stay yours. Other users never see your data, only the breeding values on animals you choose to show.

Every weight, scan, calving and DNA result added by anyone lifts accuracy for everyone. Genemap also tells you which animals to record next, and how much that will lift accuracy.

Price
Every trait in dollars, for your enterprise.
A national index prices traits for an average farm. Genemap works out what each trait is worth on yours, from your herd, your sale grid and the market prices MLA publishes each night.
Anything you haven't entered yet runs on a clearly labelled reference value, and the page tells you which. Change a price and the rankings recalculate.
Plan
Choose sires. See where the herd is heading.
Pick a mob and Genemap ranks your bulls by the calf you can expect, and flags a bull that's risky on heifers. Drop in a sale catalogue and every bull in it is ranked the same way. For sheep, it works out the most a ram is worth to you at a sale.
Then forecast where your herd or flock will be in 10 to 15 years under each plan, with a likely range, not a single promise.
Record
Record it once, on your phone or at the desk.
Weights from a scale file, calving and lambing in the paddock, pregnancy scans, scores, carcase feedback, DNA results from the lab, and imports from a spreadsheet or breed-society file. Every record lands on the animal and feeds the evaluation.
Ultrasound scan values measured by your technician feed your breeding values. Genemap's own image measurement and IMF are being validated against technician and carcase results.
How it works
Three steps. Start with what you've got.
Start with the EBVs you already have
Download your figures from your breed society or genomic test and drop the file in. Your animals are ranked for your farm on day one.
Record as you go
Weights, calvings, lambings, scans and DNA. Each one sharpens your own evaluation, and Genemap tells you what's worth recording next.
Decide with your own numbers
Pick sires for each mob, rank a sale catalogue before the sale, and see where your herd is heading over the next 10 to 15 years.
Who it's for
For people who breed their own stock.
Stud breeders
Run your own evaluation beside the breed society's, and rank your sale team on the index that fits each kind of client.
Commercial producers
Choose bulls or rams for each mob on your own economics, and rank a sale catalogue before sale day.
Composite breeders
Breed mix is tracked for every animal, and crossbreds are credited for hybrid vigour from a published, sourced table.
Sheep and cattle
Both in one account. Switch between them with one tap. Each has its own traits, indexes and pages.
Why trust it
Built by a breeder. Checked against the source.
Built by a breeder
Genemap was built by a seventh-generation breeder who recorded every measurement on his own stock himself and wrote the evaluation.
Every number checked
Each figure says where it came from: a breed-society file, your own records, or a market price with its sale date. A method has to get known answers right on test data before its results are shown.
Your data stays yours
Your records sit in your own account, hosted in Australia. Nobody outside your business can see them, nothing is shared unless you switch it on, and you can download the lot at any time.
Open methodology
The whole method is written out, step by step, with its sources, including what Genemap doesn't do yet. Read the Methods page.
Pricing
Try it free. One plan for cattle and sheep later.
Full access, no card needed. Paid plans aren't open yet, so nothing is billed today. Your data stays in your account.

Questions
Plain answers.
Do I need DNA tests to start?
No. Start with the EBVs you already have. DNA results, weights and other records add accuracy as you go.
Which files can I bring in?
Cattle: BREEDPLAN, Angus TACE and GenetIQ, Leachman, Igenity, IGS and Inherit Select. Sheep: MerinoSelect, LAMBPLAN, SIL, Signet, Sheep Ireland, NSIP and Iceland. The format is detected when you drop the file in.
Does it replace my breed society's figures?
No. Your published figures are kept exactly as supplied. Genemap adds your own evaluation and your own dollar values beside them, and only writes a new evaluation to your animals when you choose to apply it.
Where do the dollar values come from?
From your herd or flock, your sale grid and the market prices MLA publishes each night. Until you fill in your farm's figures, labelled reference values stand in, and the pages tell you which ones.
Is my data private?
Yes. It's in your own account, hosted in Australia, and the database stops anyone outside your business reading it. Sharing settings are off unless you turn them on. You can download your whole account at any time.
How big a herd can it handle?
Genemap's own evaluation currently runs up to about 1,190 animals, counting the ancestors in the pedigree. If you're bigger than that, talk to us.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. It runs in the browser on a phone, tablet or computer, and you can add it to your home screen like an app.
Is everything finished?
No, and we say so. Some parts are still being built, like ultrasound, and the shared evaluation across herds isn't switched on yet. The Methods page lists what's live and what isn't.
