Multi-omic genetic evaluation · for Australian sheep & cattle

One live $ index for every animal you own.

Start from the breeding values you already pay for — your MerinoSelect / LAMBPLAN ASBVs or BREEDPLAN / Angus TACE / Zoetis Inherit Select / IGS EBVs. Genemap layers on your genomics, weighings, carcase feedback, pasture, climate and live market signals, then rebuilds a single dollar value for every animal — recalibrated the moment your data changes.

Your data, scoped to your account. Re-indexed to your enterprise — yours alone.

What it does

Static breeding values, made live for your farm.

National evaluations rank animals against the average. Genemap re-ranks them against your enterprise, your country and today's market — and re-runs the moment anything changes.

Live index

Download your ASBVs / EBVs. Drag, drop, done.

Your national evaluation is the starting point, not the finish line. Drop in your catalogue and Genemap builds a single dollar value per animal under your bioeconomic weights — then re-derives it every time a new layer of data lands.

  • One $ index per animal, per trait
  • EBVs become GEBVs the moment SNPs load
  • Re-ranked live as weighings and carcase data arrive

Your weights, not the average

Tuned to your enterprise, your country, your market.

Every $/EBV-unit comes from your enterprise type, breeding system, joining pattern, retention rates, target spec and live market data. The engine proposes the weights; you override anything live and watch the rank shift.

  • Per-flock & per-herd bioeconomic weights
  • Reaction norms shift weights with climate & season
  • AI assistant answers "why is this one ranked 4th?"
Why is ram 210556 ranked 4th, not 1st?
On your weights it's strong for growth and carcase, but your self-replacing flock leans on fertility and wool — where 230118 is well ahead. Drop the carcase weight and 210556 climbs to 2nd.
Decision tools

Your data, no lock-in

The index is ours to compute. The data stays yours.

National indexes rank your animals on the average herd. Genemap rebuilds the dollar value on your country, your costs and live MLA pricing — with a real per-animal P&L and non-linear trait curves, not a single straight-line weight. Rigorous selection-index maths is the floor, not the headline.

  • Import EBVs from any source — BREEDPLAN, IGS, Zoetis Inherit, Igenity — never locked to one genomics vendor
  • Export your whole herd any time as open CSV + JSON — source EBVs and Genemap's outputs together
  • Per-farm $ from a real per-cow P&L — not a national-average index

Evaluation layers

Multi-omic by design.

National evaluations deliver pedigree-and-phenotype EBVs / ASBVs at population scale. Genemap takes those as the foundation and layers seven more streams on top — then re-runs the solver every time any layer updates.

Layers tagged Live are computing on your data today. Layers tagged In development have the framework and schema built; they activate as validated models and data feeds come online.

01 / Genetic

Single-step GBLUP Live

Multi-trait Henderson MME. Pedigree A and genomic G blended via the H-matrix (Christensen-Lund 2010). EBVs become GEBVs the moment SNP genotypes load.

02 / Genomic

Genomics & major genes Live

VanRaden 2008 G-matrix from your SNPs. 35+ catalogued major-gene variants — Booroola, FecX/GDF9, MSTN, Callipyge, MTNR1A, PRNP — applied with proper dominance modes.

03 / Phenotypes

Live phenotype streams Live

CSV, walk-over weighing, processor carcase feedback, MSA / ISC kill-sheet ingest, lambing logs and classer scores ingest live — each batch fires a streaming Bayesian update. Direct wearable, bolus and parlour feeds are in development; bring those in via CSV today.

04 / Microbiome

16S & RNA expression In development

Framework built for 16S taxonomy and KEGG-mapped, gene-level RNA expression. Predictive feedback into trait realisation activates per-farm once a validated model is registered — it is not re-ranking animals today.

05 / Feed efficiency

Vytelle & GreenFeed Live

Schema and CSV ingest for daily DMI, ADG, FCR, residual feed intake and respiration-chamber methane are live. Direct device-to-cloud feeds are in development — bring data in via CSV today.

06 / Nutrition

SCA 1990 nutrition fit Live

Pasture ME ceiling vs each animal's genetic-potential ADG. When the gap opens up, $ merit is discounted — the animal can't realise on the country it's on.

07 / Climate G×E

Climate & grass-as-constraint In development

Breed-class × THI climate shift and a per-animal pasture-gap penalty are live — they re-rank animals to your country, not just scale them. Per-animal reaction-norm slopes — true G×E re-ranking — are a built hook that activates the day a real G×E analysis lands.

08 / Markets

Live market wiring Live

ESTLI, store lamb, mutton, AWEX micron index, grain and hay — daily snapshot. Weights anchor to a specific market_data_id, so you can audit which weights produced which rank.

National index rank
#38 / 412
Your enterprise rank
#5 / 412

Why it moved. The national index is growth-led, and on raw growth this bull is only moderate — so it sits mid-pack at #38. But this is a self-replacing herd that joins its own heifers and sells on an MSA marbling grid. On those weights, short Days to Calving and high intramuscular fat are worth real money, while heavy mature cows cost feed every year and get penalised. Price those the way this operation actually realises them and the same bull climbs to #5. Nothing about the animal changed — only who's doing the valuing.

Decision tools

Built for the decisions you actually have to make.

Every engine outputs a number you can take to a sale, a tender, a vet, an agronomist, a buyer or your accountant.

Per-flock & per-herd weights

Every $/EBV-unit derived from your enterprise type, breeding system, joining pattern, retention rates, target spec and live market data. The engine proposes; you override anything live.

Bid advisor with NPV fan

Maximum justifiable bid for any sire under your service-life NPV, with P10/P50/P90 from a 1,000-sample Monte Carlo. Joining system and major-gene genotype feed in.

Sire selection & mate allocation

Auto-mob grouping and min-cost-flow mate allocation under per-generation inbreeding caps (Meuwissen 1997 OCS). Top-N sires per mob, progeny merit decomposed by trait.

Reproductive-system aware

Annual, split, 3-in-2, Cornell STAR. Yearling vs hogget vs 2yo joining. Lambs weaned per ewe per year is the metric — not lambs per lambing.

Heterosis & crossbreeding

Pollak-Quaas crossbred-BLUP heterosis covariate at the $-merit layer. F1 and composite animals get credit for non-additive gain pure-additive indexes miss.

Cross-business GEBV pooling Coming

Framework wired today: bilateral, revocable consent + the shared-reference scaffolding. Accuracy uplift goes live when the pooled-solver back-end ships — until then, your own reference population drives the index. SNPs and pedigree will pool; phenotypes and breeding values never cross.

Marketplace & cross-flock compare

Re-index any animal — own flock, a listing, or a consenting partner — under your farm profile, your climate, your feed, your weights. The same $ for everyone is gone.

Representative-herd sampling

Running thousands of head and can't genotype everything? Upload your inventory and a budget; get a stratified-random plan plus a paddock-ordered muster CSV for one efficient yard run.

Multi-property & enterprise scope

Two stations, three enterprises? Switch scope at the click of a pill. A sticky header always shows which property and enterprise your ranks belong to — no viewing the wrong mob by accident.

Activity log & audit trail

Every upload, rank computation, profile save, consent grant and sampling plan is logged to your account — a day-grouped, action-filtered feed of what landed when and what produced which rank.

Questions

Frequently asked.

What is Genemap?+
A live, multi-omic genetic evaluation platform for Australian sheep and cattle. It starts from the ASBVs / EBVs you already pay for, then layers on your genomics, phenotype feeds, microbiome, nutrition fit, climate and live market signals — and continuously rebuilds a single dollar-value index for every animal, tuned to your enterprise.
Do I need to genotype my whole herd first?+
No. Start with your published ASBVs / EBVs — download them and drag-and-drop. Genomics, weighings, carcase feedback and the other layers fold in as you add them; EBVs become GEBVs the moment SNPs load. For large mobs, the representative-herd sampling planner returns a stratified-random plan and a paddock-ordered muster CSV so you only genotype what moves the rank.
Which evaluations does it work with?+
Sheep: MerinoSelect and LAMBPLAN ASBVs. Cattle: BREEDPLAN, Angus TACE, Zoetis Inherit Select, IGS and Igenity Beef EBVs. Genemap runs sheep and beef as two independent streams under one login, each separately optimised — pick on sign-in and switch any time.
Is my data private?+
Yes. Your raw data never leaves your account, and the index is re-derived under your own profile — yours alone. Two features are strictly opt-in and off by default: anonymous reference-population contribution (shares de-identified SNP genotypes only — never phenotypes, breeding values or animal identifiers — and is instantly revocable) and cross-business genotype pooling for breed-cooperatives (bilateral, revocable consent). Either way, your phenotypes and breeding values never cross.
How is the index calculated — can I see the maths?+
Yes. The methodology is open: every formula is documented, every coefficient visible and every citation inline. You can override any economic weight, genetic correlation or heritability and watch the rank shift. Each rank also anchors to the market snapshot that produced it, so it's fully auditable.
How does the AI assistant work?+
An AI assistant is wired into Genemap with your live herd context — flock profit, sire Monte Carlo, animal detail, microbiome, mate allocation and more — all scoped to your data. Ask something like "why is this ram ranked 4th?" and you get a numeric answer grounded in your own numbers, not generic advice. It can only see your own account's data, and it answers from your numbers rather than offering generic opinion.
